The organic farm & guesthouse “Tra Cielo e Terra (Between Heaven and Earth)” is located a few kilometers away from Todi, in the district of Frontignano. In an excellent panoramic position, the building reflects the features of the 16th century Umbrian architecture, consisting of an old rectangular farmhouse whose original nucleus dates back to the early 1700’s, and a higher tower-shaped building, renovated a decade ago, useful at the time as a lookout point. Because of the presence of spring water, the area was called “Vocabolo Orto”, that is to say area for vegetable gardens, for the nearby fortified castle of Frontignano.

Sustainability

Our farm is environmentally friendly and uses low environmental impact technologies, using renewable energy to produce domestic hot water and heating. We have a photovoltaic system for the production of electricity and solar heating for the production of hot water and underfloor heating. Eight solar thermal panels provide domestic hot water to the entire structure from April to October and integrated in the remaining months, the heating is produced through an economical stove and a pellet boiler with automatic refilling, a 2000 litres tank accumulates the energy produced by the sun or wood. Electricity is produced by a 2.8 kW photovoltaic system.
